USC students: Bud Light ad was best
Conan O’Brien’s debut as a TV pitchman for Bud Light won over USC advertising students who ranked ads that aired during Sunday’s Super Bowl.

The O’Brien commercial was rated “best overall” of about 50 spots that were broadcast, USC advertising professor Bonnie Drewniany said Monday.

It’s the fourth time that the advertising agency DDB Chicago and Bud Light have won USC’s annual Ad Bowl Poll. USC grad John Baker is a member of the winning ad team, which has been invited to visit USC on April 2 to receive the Cocky Award.

The ads were ranked for persuasiveness, brand ID and likability. At the end of the game, the scores were averaged and winners picked for best overall, as well as for the individual categories.

About 70 students in USC advertising classes participated in the voting.
