Teens held in robberies at 4 ATMs |
Two Columbia-area teenagers have been arrested in connection with four recent drive-through ATM robberies in Northeast Richland, Sheriff Leon Lott said Monday.Anthony Shy, 18, and Clinton Matthews, 17, were arrested after the victim in a robbery Thursday night at an ATM on Two Notch Road gave deputies a description of the suspects’ vehicle, Lott said. The pair have no prior records as adults, State Law Enforcement Division records show. They are not believed to be connected to three other recent ATM robberies and another robbery at a Polo Road convenience store in the same area, said sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Chris Cowan.“We think there’s a second group that’s responsible for the other ones,” Cowan said, adding no arrests have been made in those cases.Cowan earlier said none of the reported robberies appears to be connected to the Jan. 21 fatal shooting of a woman at a Bank of America ATM on Trenholm Road in Forest Acres. |
