A West Columbia man is accused of using Internet auction sites to buy merchandise with counterfeit money orders and personal checks from a bank account that doesn’t exist, authorities said.

Mark Lamar Watts, 46, has been indicted on seven counts of wire fraud, a U.S. attorney’s office news release said.

He also is accused of selling items in Internet auctions but failing to send the merchandise to the successful bidders, the release said.
